Description
The seven radial lanes from the World Cup stadium enable the most efficient entry and exit from the stadium. The stadium exterior embodies the Red Crown Crane, a city bird, and Ulsan’s image as an industrial city. The adoption of assembly and systematized construction methods that maximize industrial production methods are designed to highlight the identity of the No. 1 industrial city in Korea. The tensile cables for roof structure and 100% PC floor plate realize the most aesthetic structure. With two stories above ground and two basements, the stadium has a roof covering on 87% of the four-sided grandstand, supported by the steel thrust that is abstracted from the whale skeletons of Bangudae petroglyphs and the columns from the Silla golden crown.
