Overview

Technology Name

Water Pipe Freeze Prevention Technology Using Modular Water Flow Sensor &
Temperature Sensor

Technical Scope

Pipe freeze prevention technology that can be controlled according to the set tempera-
ture deviation and water flow by installing water flow sensor, temperature sensor, and
heating cable on the pipe and by connecting them with a communications module
including sub and main modules

Technical Details

As a technology to prevent the freezing of pipes in underground parking lots and at
outdoor pipes, the technology is an energy-saving one, through which electrical supply
to the heating cable – where water flows in the pipe – is cut off, although the pipe tem-
perature goes down to below the set temperature by sensing the pipe temperature
and water flow with the water flow and temperature sensors.

Specified certificate of new technology

Features

  • Reduces power consumption by allowing separate control by each section.
  • Reduces construction costs by connecting multiple sensors with a single wiring/piping.
  • Reflects innovative conditions of freezing and bursting using a water flow sensor.
  • Actualizes a water flow sensor with accuracy / durability / economic feasibility optimized for technology preventing freezing
    and bursting.

Composition

  • An innovative technology that prevents freezing and bursting using a water flow sensor.
  • Processing measured values of multiple sensors with a single wiring/piping by applying the submodule.
  • Integrated control of an exothermic process with the main module.
  • Systems with accuracy / durability / economic feasibility optimized for technology preventing freezing and bursting.

Installation Procedure

  • Installation 1. (Install a T-shaped part for a flow sensor in piping.) -Replace a flow sensor · facilitate repairs.
  • Installation 2. (Install a water flow sensor and temperature sensor.) - Possible control of piping by section.
  • Installation 3. (Wiring and piping construction for electricity and communications.) - Minimize growing construction costs because of the installation of 1-Line communication pipes.
  • Installation 4. (Install a control box for the main module.) - A factor of increasing construction costs in terms of economical feasibility.
  • Installation 5. (Install the submodule.) - A factor of increasing construction costs in terms of economical feasibility.
  • Installation 6. (Adjust the sensitivity of the water flow sensor.) - Easily adjust and reset sensitivity after installation and during operation.
